  • Berrien, Cass, Van Buren Michigan Works! 499 West Main Street Benton Harbor, MI, 49022 United States (map)

Overview

Workforce development is an important career, especially in today’s economic & workforce climate. How can you, as a workforce professional, show credibility as a career coach? The Workforce & Career Development Certification training will offer you the opportunity to get training and the opportunity to apply for THREE industry recognized credentials. This training has been conducted worldwide, and since it is the first time the training is being offered through the Michigan Works! Association, it is at a reduced rate.

The Workforce and Career Development Certification® Training (WCDC®) explores the career and workforce development competencies required for the effective delivery of high-quality, career development services. The WCDC® training utilizes the National Career Development Associations’ Facilitating Career Development curriculum and is built upon three nationally accredited, and industry-recognized certifications; including the Certified Career Services Provider Certification (CCSP), Global Career Development Facilitator Certification (GCDF), and the Certified Workforce Development Professional Certification (CWDP).. The WCDC® coursework includes over 20 core competencies that all workforce development professionals should possess in order to provide their customers with superior service and expertise in the areas of assessment, career planning, business services, working with diverse populations, and ethics.

Upon successful completion and mastery of WCDC® curriculum, including adequate completion of all assignments and demonstration of required participation, students will receive a Certificate of Completion. Each certification brings with it benefits and additional networking, resources and professional development opportunities. While all three meet the competencies and standards that are industry recognized the national accreditation and associated memberships offer students the ability to have a stackable and portable credential. This certificate confirms that the student has gained the knowledge and core competencies listed above, and may be used to apply for the certifications listed below:
