Overview
Policy is messy, it is not just black and white. So how do we address the grey in policy? This training is perfect for Michigan Works! Agency policy end user staff and policy implementers (non-management) and will introduce participants to the principles of federal, state, and local policymaking and establish a framework for policy development and implementation. Participants will walk away with an understanding of the why, how and who of policy.

Introduce staff to the principles of federal, state, and local policymaking
Where to find policies
What is the policy hierarchy
How to read a policy
What does it say and what doesn’t it say
Implementing policy
Principles of asking good questions (internally)
Distinguishing between policy and procedure
The end-user generally wants procedures
Developing procedural workflows, checklists, how-to, etc
It is envisioned that this training would target MWA policy end user staff and policy implementers.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be submitted in writing up to seven (7) business days prior to the training to receive a full refund. Cancellations received less than seven (7) business days prior to the training will be invoiced, and payments will not be refunded. No shows will be billed. Substitutions are welcomed.
