Virtual Leadership in Business – Workplace Mental Health Best Practices

Sean Egan, through his current role as LEO’s Deputy Director of Labor, spearheads an initiative focused on addressing mental health in the workplace.

Dedicated to ending the stigma associated with mental health in the workplace, focusing on expanding awareness and acceptance for those suffering from mental health stresses and reduce work-related suicides.

Sharing data on where we are, why the workplace, the impacts of chronic stress, and focusing on issue areas happening in the workplace, affecting the workplace, and individual behavioral health supports.

Sharing with working people and leadership why the workplace is the right place to ensure we are building stronger workplaces, stronger workers, and stronger communities.

Presenter

Sean Egan, JD

Sean brings a wealth of experience across all areas of our economy. Sean was in the Navy and after his service served an apprenticeship and became a Journeyman Electrician through the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).

In 2007 he was elected by the members as the head of the Local Union representing construction electricians, manufacturing, broadcasting, and electrical motor service industries. His duties included managing the non-profit operations and representational activities for members.

Sean earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Davenport University, and a Juris Doctor (JD) from Thomas M. Cooley Law School going to classes nights and weekends.

He continues to serve our communities as an avid volunteer through the A. Phillip Randolph Institute, his Local Union and Labor Council, the United Way as a volunteer tax preparer in the VITA program, and pretty much anywhere groups are focused on helping people lift themselves into the middle class.

Most recently he served as General Counsel to IBEW Local 876 which represents working people in energy, construction, government, utility, line clearance, and other industries.

Sean’s focus at LEO will be on Labor, primarily overseeing MIOSHA, Workers Disability and Compensation Agency, the Bureau of Employment Relations, and the Wage & Hour Division. He also supports LEO’s efforts across the spectrum as his experience spans many of our goals.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be submitted in writing up to seven (7) business days prior to the training to receive a full refund. Cancellations received less than seven (7) business days prior to the training will be invoiced, and payments will not be refunded. No shows will be billed. Substitutions are welcomed.
