Clinton County Board of Commissioners

Robert Showers has held multiple executive management positions in the insurance industry for the past 40 years. He retired from the American International Group (AIG).  He serves as a Local Elected Official representative on the Board of Directors.

Showers current serves as a Clinton County Commissioner and is chair of the Clinton County Board of Commissioners.  He also serves as Chair of the Next Michigan Development Corporation Board of Directors (Capital Regional Airport Authority Aerotropolis); Vice President of the Board of Trustees for the Michigan Association of Counties Workers Compensation Fund; and Director of the Michigan Association of Counties Service Corporation.  He is a member of the Capital Area Michigan Works! Administrative Board; Lansing Economic Area Partnership; Board of Directors of the Michigan Association of Counties; Michigan Association of Counties Finance and General Government Committees; Capitol Council of Governments (CAPCOG); Ex Officio member of the Capital Regional Airport Authority; and past Councilman, City of Dewitt, having also served as Mayor Pro Tem and Acting Mayor of Dewitt.
