CBSP Renewal

The purpose of renewing CBSP is to ensure that you have continued your growth as a workforce development professional, to expand your base of knowledge and to share your BSP expertise with new and upcoming BSPs.

CBSP is valid for two years. Renewal application and $25 application fee are to be submitted by November 30 of your expiration year. You will be notified within 30 days of the results.

CBSP Professional Engagement List

Renew your CBSP by completing four professional engagement tasks as a CBSP. These tasks can be completed any time after certification, but before November 30 of your CBSP expiration year. In your renewal application, you will be required to provide a description of the task and date completed. This list is not all inclusive, but a guideline. Contact Kimberly Way to get proposed task approved. Preapproved tasks are:

  • Attend BSP session as expert*

  • Be on a panel to grade BSP fieldwork projects*

  • Fieldwork project*

  • Present at BSP Networking Event

  • Present at a BSP Refresher Course

  • Present at a Users' Group meeting

  • Presentation about BSP project, BSP philosophy, importance of BSP, etc.

  • Presentation at career technical school

  • Provide content for BSP LinkedIn group (blog, vlog, article, etc.)*

  • Report to local chamber or workforce board on BSP project

  • Staff the BSP booth at Annual Conference during exhibit hours

  • Other - contact Kimberly Way for pre-approval

*These professional engagement tasks can be done twice and count toward renewal.

Continuation of the Business Solutions Professional program is dependent on the knowledge of the CBSPs who are in the workforce field daily. The Association recognizes the importance of your knowledge to this program and believes the CBSP is the avenue to showcase YOU.

Read the application package carefully and determine if you qualify. Do not submit an application unless you meet the criteria at the time of application. Submit your application online at www.michiganworks.org (faxes and emails will not be accepted).
