Charlotte (Charlie) Mahoney

Charlie Mahoney is President of Four-M Associates, a Community Outreach Consulting Firm in Livonia, Michigan as well as a retired Regional Manager for DTE Energy. She serves as current Board member and chair of the Southeast Michigan Community Alliance (SEMCA) Michigan Works! Workforce Development Board.  She is also the past Chair of the SEMCA –Educational Advisory Group; member of the MWA! Board of directors since September 2007; and member of the National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB).

Mahoney previously served as a project consultant to Congressman John Dingell’s campaign, the LISC Metropolitan Detroit Regional Investment Initiative, the Monroe IHM Motherhouse, the Suburbs Alliance, the Monroe County Ten Year Plan Team to Address Homeless, the Monroe County Housing Trust Fund Development Planning Team, the Community Foundation of Monroe County Policy and Bylaws update and rewrite and has facilitated visioning and marketing plan development sessions for the Community Foundation of Monroe County, the Monroe County Opportunity Program and the United Way of Monroe County. Additionally, Mahoney served as one of the founding members and President of the Monroe County Health Plan, a 501c3 organization providing access to healthcare services for those individuals not eligible for Medicaid. She has been involved in, and a supporter of, talent development as chair of the JTPA Private Industry Council Workforce Board in Out Wayne County and as a board member of the Livonia CETA Program.

Mahoney serves on multiple non-profit organization boards and is appointed to the City of Livonia Civil Service Commission.  She is a recipient of several honors and awards including the 2003 MWA Private Sector Volunteer of the Year and in 2013 Observer & Eccentric Livonia’s First Citizen. Her experience in workforce development began in the late 1970s. Mahoney is dedicated to workforce development with a strong commitment to the system.
