This workshop provides a straightforward understanding of the complexities of the Michigan Works! System.
Attendees come away with an accurate foundational knowledge of workforce development, from legislative origins to the current challenges and opportunities associated with Michigan’s economic recovery. This training will fast track essential basic knowledge for new staff and board members while providing a deeper understanding of Michigan’s Workforce Development System for experienced staff.

Who Should Attend:
Anyone interested in learning more about the Michigan Works! System and its correlation to economic development and sustainability. This workshop is especially beneficial to those who are new to the Michigan Works! System.
Presented By:
Karen Anderson, chief operating officer for Michigan Works! Association, is responsible for the review of policy guidance and regulatory issuances, and ensuring compliance regarding all funding sources. Anderson also plays a key role in management and organizational operations. She serves on local, state and federal level committees and work groups.
Anderson accepted the position as chief operating officer from her previous position as quality assurance officer for Capital Area Michigan Works!, one of 25 Michigan Works! Agencies throughout the state. With an extensive background in compliance and regulation, Anderson holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology from Michigan State University. She is currently completing a master’s degree in public administration at Central Michigan University.

Cancellations received less than three business days prior to the workshop will be invoiced, and any payments received will not be refunded. Substitutions are welcome.
