Description:
Welfare reform efforts in the past decade have left caseworkers with a new generation of caseload challenges. In addition to other significant barriers, many customers think, feel and behave in ways that sabotage their own success. This workshop explores four common self-defeating beliefs and prepares attendees with the skills to establish rapport and informally counsel challenging customers through emotional issues.

Attendees learn to consider the ways cultural norms interfere with messaging and how to address work expectations in an effective and results-oriented manner.

Location:
Radisson Hotel & Conference Center Detroit-Livonia
17123 N. Laurel Park Drive
Livonia, MI 48152
